Digital and advanced technologies are transforming our culture, allowing new cultural forms of expression and storytelling to flourish. But as cultural production shifts from the material to the virtual, how are libraries transforming the way they document and collect today’s culture for future audiences and researchers?
State Library Victoria and Frame Documentary present a conversation between international experts in digital media: creator Vincent Morisset (Canada) and curator Mia Ridge (UK), moderated by Ana Tiquia. They will discuss their work and practice, including:
How technology is shaping our culture and cultural production
Different creative processes for working with different technologies and interactive forms
How the shifts in cultural production are transforming what libraries collect and how they document it
Considerations that are needed for archiving, documenting or conserving new types of digital work
The conversation will be followed by Q&A with the audience.
